THE CHARACTER

Character Name: Diana, also known as Princess Diana of Themyscira, also also known as Diana Prince
Series: DCEU
Canon Point: After crossing No Man's Land in Wonder Woman
Character Age: She was born in 3000BC, and it is 1918 in her movie, which would make her... 4918! So, slightly above the 18 requirement. But only slightly.
Background:

❝ What I do is not up to you. ❞

Personality: Diana has lived a very sheltered life. She was a doted-on princess in the midst of a beautiful paradise. She had an entire island of protectors, a mother that wanted to keep her from all possible harm — perhaps even her destiny. That makes her very sheltered, now that she has left the embrace of her family. She does not understand the behavior and lifestyle of many of the people she meets, as it tends to contrast quite strongly with what Diana is used to.

Which is not to say Diana is stupid. She is ignorant of a great deal, yet that is not the same thing as being unintelligent. In fact, she is very intelligent, and speaks in a thoughtful and usually concise way. She can be brunt and very upfront. She is very curious and wonders a lot about what she sees, and is rarely shy about asking the meaning of something or why things are done the way they are. In fact she does not seem to be shy about anything at all, including her body and nudity and topics that might be taboo in other societies, such as sex. She has a striking amount of naiveté, considering her apparent age, yet that should never be mistaken as incapacity to grow and learn, because those are some of the things she does best.

She was shown to have a great interest in learning. Not just in reading and academics, Diana had a strong yearning to learn how to fight and partake in the way of the amazon like the rest of her people. In fact she wanted this enough that she was willing to disobey her mother, which is quite a feat. She has a zeal for fighting and seems to enjoy it, though she will not fight against someone that is not deserving of retribution. She fights for those that cannot fight for themselves, not because she desires a fight and will make one to sate that desire.

Because amazons were a race intended to bring peace back to the hearts of men, Diana does not tend easily towards deceit or cruelty. She is kind and warm to those she meets and only changes that attitude with personal experience. She is incredibly empathetic, for humans and animals alike. She is protective of anyone she sees in need of help and protests greatly when she sees discrimination or deliberate ignorance towards suffering. In fact she can get herself in a great deal of trouble when she runs straight into danger to help those she sees as in need of her help. She feels an obligation to help all that she can, as she believes it to be her purpose in life as an amazon.

Her time sheltered on Themyscira has also resulted in her being a little bit judgmental. Diana was less than impressed with the men Steve recruited to aid them to the front, because she perceived their occupations to be dishonest. To be fair, they kind of were. She also is offended and upset when she realizes someone intends to do something she perceives as wrong. This can be something as serious as murder or as ridiculous as telling a slight lie. However, despite this, she usually easily overcomes her misconceptions once she comes to know a person beyond their flaws.

Diana is not afraid to say what she thinks, even if it is at odds with someone else. She is a very independent creature and not afraid of doing things alone if no one will stand with her. She is incredibly confident and believes very much in what she can do and what she is capable of. She seems to doubt herself very little. She believes in what matters to her very strongly, and she will speak up if she thinks what is happening is wrong. She has a bit of a fiery temper when it is finally set off, and she does not do a lot to curb it, even if that would be polite or expected. She is not one to hide her feelings or to skirt around the truth, though this does make her quite easy to read and pretty easy to predict.

Unfortunately, Diana’s trusting nature makes her incredibly vulnerable to being manipulated. She was raised in a very sheltered environment where she would never expect someone to hide things from her, and she expects the same of absolute strangers. Many people were able to hide the truth from her (such as her mother, Hippolyta, who never revealed her true parentage) and even someone she grew to love, Steve Trevor (he did not believe in her mission and used her to escape Themyscira to return to his own mission). She is incredibly heartbroken when she realizes people have been deceiving her, and tends to recoil quite strongly from them when she finds out.

For all her faith in humanity, in the goodness of men, it is not unbreakable. It takes a great deal to damper her belief because Diana places all blame for their darkness on Ares. Once she comes to see the truth, she became far more disillusioned with humanity and became much less open and trusting. Diana has not yet reached this point in development at her canon point, yet I find it important to mention this is still inside of her. She was capable of being broken to the point that she refused to participate in an attempt to stop hundreds if not thousands of civilians being killed in a chemical attack, which is an extreme jump from the believing and trusting girl she started out as!

Still, what drew her back from that disgust and what will always drive Diana is her belief in love. She believes in its strength and its beauty, she believes that the strength of love in humans is what needs to be protected. It is what she fights for and she believes in most. It drives most of her actions, and it is what makes her persevere and keep fighting when her hopes have fallen. Above all things, Diana believes in love. D’aw. What a romantic.

Powers/Abilities:
DEMIGOD. While Diana is not aware of it at her canon point, she is the daughter of Zeus and therefor has the blood of a god as well as an amazon. Because of the fact she is part goddess, she does not perceptibly age, and is presumably immortal. However, as long as Diana is unaware of her halfblood status, she inadvertently limits her own power. Because of this, despite all the powers listed here, she may not be able to reach her full potential in all of them.

ENHANCED STRENGTH. Diana is incredibly strong, and shown to be capable of quite a few feats of strength in the movie. This includes punching her way through stone to get a good grip, crumbling a gun like it is made of rice krispie treats, and lifting a tank. Yeah. A part of her super strength also includes incredibly great leaps, across fields and high into the air. A running start definitely helps her get more distance on these.

ENHANCED DURABILITY. Diana is capable of taking an incredible amount of hits, and blunt force doesn't prove to cause much of an impact. This is not to say she cannot be stunned or disoriented, she can be (from especially strong hits, being thrown long distances, etc). She is not completely indestructible, though, she can be cut by especially sharp things, such as arrowheads and gunshots. A part of this includes incredibly fast healing from any injury she does sustain (she was able to completely recover from a cut on her arm in hours) and immunity to things like poison (she walked into a cloud of hydrogen based gas and suffered no ill effects). She also has extreme durability to keep running and fighting at extreme energy levels without showing signs of tiring.

ENHANCED SPEED. Diana is not so fast you can't see her moving, but she is capable of moving quite quickly. Quickly enough to block bullets headed toward her, for example, even bullets from a stationary machine gun!

ENHANCED SENSES. Diana has heightened senses, which allows her to hear and see from greater distances, and react to things faster. However this can also be detrimental, such as when she was temporarily deafened by surviving a great deal of grenade explosions.

ENERGY GENERATION. Using her bracelets as a central force, Diana is able to generate large amounts of energy, sometimes with extreme heat. She can use this in as an outward force, to knock people down or injure (notably, she was able to stumble Ares with this), or as a protective shield (she was able to absorb shrapnel that was thrown at the shield). Lastly, she was capable of absorbing energy in this shield, enough that she was able to combine that power with her own to kill a fellow god (Ares).

AMAZON. As an amazon, Diana was trained in their style of fighting since a very young age. It includes using a sword, a shield, a bow and arrow, horseback riding and fighting, and acrobatic maneuvers to outwit and disarm opponents. Amazons also have the ability to read, speak, and write any human language (though, there are limits to this... she seemed unable to understand the language of a Native American she met on her travels). This does include dead languages!

Power Nerfs (if applicable): None of her powers qualify as the game-breaking ones mentioned!

Inventory: Diana will be coming into the game dressed as she is in this in this still. She will be wearing a long cape, the armor of the amazons, and the tiara of her aunt Antiope. None of these are powered. Her other equipment is a slightly different story. Since not all of them are technically weapons, I am not sure if she'd be allowed to bring them or not, but since they are magical items I assume not! I listed them in order of importance, and the first is the item I would like to come with her. Please let me know if the rest of her items can come along since (most) of them are either not weapons, or not magical.

LASSO OF HESTIA. An unbreakable golden lasso with extreme strength and durability. When put in a complete loop around someone, it forces them to tell the truth. I would use permissions for this ability, of course! This is the item I request as my one item she is definitely allowed to take.

BRACELETS OF SUBMISSION. It is not stated in the film, however the wiki claims that these bracelets are near indestructible (proven by the fact she uses them to deflect bullets) and the source of her energy generation. The movie did not give much indication this was so, and it was my interpretation that energy was a part of Diana that used the bracelets as a waypoint. However, I'm cool going with whatever mods request!

SHIELD. While her shield seems incredibly impervious, and it is surely amazon by craft, it is not stated whether it is magical or not. It does seem to take a lot of unbelievable blows, though, so it may very well be. Since it doesn't seem to be magical, I would like if she could keep it, but I understand if she needs to earn it back!

GODKILLER. Despite the name, this sword is deceptively named. In fact, it was completely obliterated the second Diana tried to use it on an actual god. There's a good chance this is just a simple sword, with no magical qualities whatsoever... However it means a lot to Diana and she believes very strongly in its importance. She would be distressed to lose it and I hope that she can keep it, considering it is basically just a normal sword.

Incentives: Diana wants to have the freedom to defeat Ares. That's all. No big, right?
